Each horse
is an individual creation, Karlene lets the clay "become
what it wants to be". It's micaceous clay, a white clay flecked
with tiny particles of the mineral mica. After the pieces are sanded, she fires them
in an electric kiln. Next they are enhanced with "smoke clouds"
in a fire & finally semi-precious stones & found objects
are added for color & drama.
